Kids!

Darren loved Brynlee's outfit today and wanted to capture it on (digital) film. I am pretty biased but I think this girl is super cute! She's a joy to be around, especially when her brother is in school and she gets Mommy all to herself! Seriously though, she's very bright, loves animals, and her personality is changing and emerging every day.

Tevin is still in love with anything on wheels. He is doing very well at preschool and will be in the 4's Class next year. He can spell his own name and knows all about treble and bass clefs (say what??). I found out recently that Tevin talks to God on a regular basis, thanking Him for anything from his stuffed car pillow to his sister.

Though mommyhood is hard at times, these little gems make it so worth all the ups and downs we've been through and the ones that are sure to come! These kids teach me new lessons every day!

Our Family

Here we are at Romano's for Easter Brunch. Tevin had just been disciplined for something or other, don't ask me what. Otherwise you know he would be displaying the same cheesy smile that Brynlee is!

Our Own Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny came to our house this morning! Tevin was so fast at finding the eggs that I wasn't able to get much evidence of him hunting. Our hunt lasted a little longer than the one at the park yesterday, but it was over so quickly!

Easter Egg Scramble

South Suburban Parks and Recreation puts on an annual Easter Egg Scramble for kids of all ages (including the grown-up kids). Despite very chilly temps and shivering wind, we made our first family appearance this year! Having no idea what to expect, Darren and I were a little bemused to discover that the egg "hunt" was nothing more than about 200 eggs and other treats strewn across a 20'x20' tarp on the grass. Needless to say, the "hunt" was over in about 5 minutes! Thank goodness the organizers divided all the kids in to age groups (0-3, 4-6, 7-10, and Adult Kids) or we would have had some squished little bunnies!

Are they twins???

I came across these two photos and got a good laugh, so I decided to share. These are my kids, at 4 months old. I can imagine the stares we would get if they were 4 months old AT THE SAME TIME, but of course, they are 17 months apart. Yet I still get the question, "Are they twins?" everytime I bring them to a new place. The gym, the mall, Chick-fil-A..... Oh I can't even imagine. Wonder how similar they will look when they are much older?

Train Park in Arizona

We visited the McCormick-Stillman Train Park while in Arizona. We had a glorious day in the 80s with a slight breeze. The kids were not sure about these shirts with no sleeves.... At first, Brynlee kept trying to pull them down to her wrists! We had a great time in Arizona for a week, and thank Grandma and Granddad for their hospitality and for all the food, fun, and love while we were there invading their space for almost a week. :)

Ouchie Cactus

Tevin can never resist the urge to visit his prickly friend, but this is as close to "him" as he is willing to get! Brynlee, however, will never turn down a photo opp, no matter how 'dangerous'!
