Got some hail this afternoon! The trees took the brunt of it!

My Bros!

What a handsome bunch we are! ;-) The five of us got together at the University of Denver on Saturday to take pics for my mom's (belated) 60th birthday gift. Ryan's wife Amanda was our photographer, and a great one at that!

Just a New Post

It's been several weeks since I posted about Shellie's visit. Either we've had nothing to post since then, or we have been too busy enjoying summer to slow down enough to take pictures! I'll wager it's the latter. So, since I've found a moment, here is a random post to let you all know what has been going on in Dorksville!

Darren is currently enjoying some Man Time in Phoenix for the next couple of days. He's is probably golfing as I type this (or hitting range balls, at the very least), and tonight he will get together with his friends for "TL Unplugged". Tomorrow, he and nearly 30 of his closest buddies will be plugging in for a LAN party (click the link to read more). It's the 10th anniversary celebration of the creation of TeamLAN!

Tevin is playing almost every night with his next door neighbor and buddy Dylan. They both enjoy cars and have so many of them that they don't even know when one boy's cars go home with the other boy. It is nice for Tevin to have a break from hanging out with his little sister (or, rather, a break from being pestered by his little sister?) to do "boy" stuff. Tevin starts his second year of preschool on August 31. He's excited to see many of his friends from last year.

Brynlee is as spunky as ever and enjoys pretend play. She will often come into the room as a cat, dog, butterfly, or princess. She makes me tacos out of air (they are delicious). She is learning her ABCs and can count to 10. The other day, she told me she wants to be a ballerina. :)

I am working on some major changes in all of our lives! More on that in a later post! For now, love to all - hope you are well!

New Certification Camp in Denver

We were blessed to have Shellie Blanks Cimarosti and her team of talented people visit our gym this past weekend! 5280 Sport and Fitness, the gym I teach at, hosted the Team Tae Bo New Certification Camp July 24-26. Out of a total of 40 or so New Cert "Campers" from all over the country, 20 came from 5280! I think I spent a total of 36 hours at the gym in 3 days - couldn't get enough of all the power, energy, and spirit surrounding us all. Here I am with Shellie after the 90-minute class on Saturday. I really wanted her to meet my kids; she's got 2 of her own that she absolutely adores, and we spent a good deal of time on Friday afternoon just talking kidlets. A very encouraging, enlightening, and energizing weekend - I'll never forget it!

Itsy Bitsy Spider...

Woke up to find this little guy resting after completing what was clearly an amazing overnight project! Spiders usually creep me out, but I could not resist getting close to this one to admire his handiwork. I am so humbled by how God equips each and every one of us, creatures big and small, with the tools necessary to live this life on Earth.

We wanted to witness Spidey having breakfast. So we watched, and waited. I told the kids all about how spiders wrap up their bugs and eat them. And, I even watched as a bug made the mistake of getting too close. To my surprise... let's just say there was no wrapping up and the bug felt no pain. ;)

That's the web just to the left of the chair. It's suspended about 2 feet above the patio between the chair and the post to the gazebo tent.

Big Girl Bed!

Can it be that our Brynlee is already in a bed? Alas, once the little escapee figured out how to get out of her Baby Jail (aka crib), we decided at once that it was time to make a switch. Brynlee picked everything out herself, and is especially fond of the butterfly throw pillow. Today is Day 2 of her new bed, and so far she is sleeping in it tonight (last night she opted for the crib -- left in her room JUST IN CASE -- instead of the bed). Wow... time really is flying by! She'll be 3 in a little over 3 months!

More chillin' in the hammock, this time with Uncle Trent...

Two peas in a pod???

Uncle Stefan playing Washers. Darren constructed the game squares from scratch!

Tevin getting a beer for Uncle Stefan. Remember this time last year?
